Riggers Forum

The Riggers’ Forum is aimed squarely at working riggers who rarely have an opportunity to discuss their opinions outside the workplace. We’ve been holding these very successfully in Leeds and London for several years, 2014 seeing the first one held at the SECC in Glasgow.

In keeping with a tried and tested programme, a short topical presentation will be followed by an open forum for riggers to discuss the issues of the day. It’s free to attend and a great opportunity for the rigging community to meet and network in Glasgow.

This Year's Forum

This year’s forum sees Harry Box, UK Rigging, and Chris Higgs, Total Training, presenting another in their series of popular rigging seminars entitled ‘Shouty, shouty’ which aims to help improve communication when carrying out rigging work. The blend of planning, communication and people skills are important when rigging in arenas or theatres. The session will explore the needs of up-riggers, grounders, flymen, stage staff and crew and will discuss ways of managing them safely.

Harry and Chris will be joined by an impressive line-up of panellists including Ali Low from the National Theatre of Scotland, Calum Willoughby of Pinnacle Rigging and Access and Chris Bank of Dock 10 Studios.
