The Forum has provided an annual opportunity since 2015 for riggers in the north of the country to network and discuss matters of common interest. The seminar begins with a discussion about the proximity of moving lights to fibre slings, chain bags and other combustible material. Manufacturers typically provide instructions to maintain a distance of at least 12 metres from ‘all objects’ which may be considered unworkable. Chaired by Steve Macluskie from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, a panel will discuss how this can be managed and who would be responsible should rigging safety be compromised in this way. The seminar will develop as usual into an open forum closing at 5pm.
